Our long-term goal at PLAYzone Agency is to host a world-class esports event in Czechia. We know that, just like climbing Mount Everest, this takes time and the right strategy. What individual base camps are to a mountaineer, gaming festivals and tournaments in Brno are to us. With every year (and every step), we're getting higher — thanks in no small part to you. This year we're pitching our "base camp" a bit closer to the summit again. Thanks to our long-term partnership with Tipsport, we'll be organising four tournaments in Czechia featuring international teams. The final of one of them will take place for the very first time during the Festival Life! in Brno. But there's a lot more going on at PLAYzone, and I'd like to convince you of that in our new newsletter.
A modern studio for your marketing activities
Press-conference season and the wave of product launches is fully underway, so I'd like to remind you of the options offered by our modern studio at Vodafone PLAYzone Arena. Today I'd like to take you through it from the technical side. Top-tier picture and sound are delivered by four professional Blackmagic Studio 4K Pro cameras (complete with tally lights to help speakers keep their bearings), a teleprompter, and a wide choice of lavalier and headset microphones. The fully air-conditioned, flexible 55 m² space is divided into three parts: a chroma-key greenscreen, a podcast corner and the main studio desk seating up to six guests. The perfect atmosphere is rounded off by professional lighting, colourful RGB accents and six large-format 75" screens. We're happy to fully brand the entire setup to match your identity. To make sure everything runs in complete comfort, you get dedicated WiFi and private facilities — a separate meeting room for clients and an independent control room for the production crew. And when it's time for a break, there's a bar and kitchen right outside the door, inside the Arena.
Number of the month: 15
Exactly 15 — that's how many categories the first edition of the Czech Brawl Stars Awards 2025 had, organised by YouTuber ZyX. In the "Event that best engaged the community" category, we took first place thanks to our tournaments on the PLAYzone.cz portal, which we ran together with the Datart and Axe brands. Even though our esports ambitions are aiming high, gaming communities matter enormously to us, and I'm really glad we get to stay close to them.
Communications with Tomáš
Today I'd like to introduce you to a new addition to the team, Tomáš Trč, who has joined as Head of Marketing. Tomáš brings more than 20 years of experience in the role — he has led communications for a hotel chain, a manufacturing company and, right before joining PLAYzone, for the MOL network of filling stations. Tomáš's hobbies reflect his Swiss roots. He loves going to the mountains and is an active sportsman. He used to compete in slopestyle; in summer the snowboard gets swapped for a golf club, tennis racket or bike. He's also into cars and collects Swiss watches.
Caught our eye: after Olympic gold, a Fortnite skin
Twenty-year-old figure skater Alysa Liu took home two gold medals at the Olympics, but her ambitions don't end on the ice. In an interview with USA Today, she openly admitted that her next big dream is to have her own character in the popular game Fortnite. And with a smile, she added that she'd buy it from the in-game shop herself the moment it dropped.
